Resort Style Living at Gulf Shores Plantation

Gulf Shores Plantation is an appropriate name for this multi-acre, amenity-filled condominium complex on the Fort Morgan Peninsula. The expansive grounds of this off-the-beaten path complex includes several buildings containing more than 300 condominiums that range from one-bedroom to three-bedroom in size. The Plantation also has cottages with four bedrooms and five bedrooms. And it is right on the sugar sands of the Gulf of Mexico. One bedroom units and studios range in size from 600 square feet to just under 500 square feet. Two-bedroom units are 785 square feet and three-bedroom units are 1,125 square feet. Two bathrooms are included in two-bedroom and three-bedroom units while one-bedroom units have one bathroom. Because there are several buildings in Gulf Shore Plantation, views from the balconies do vary from extraordinary to okay. There are eight buildings with condominiums including: Plantation East, which includes four buildings that 3 and 5 stories; the nine-story Plantation Dunes; Plantation West, which includes a pair of 3-story structures; and Plantation Palms, a newer Gulf-facing building.

Gulf Shores Plantation Amenities

Many condominium units include their own laundry facilities while some units are serviced by a coin-operated laundry facilities. When it comes to activities at the Gulf Shores Plantation, there is no lack of choice. There are six outdoor pools, an indoor pool, hot tubs, saunas, kiddie pools, and whirlpools. Lighted and unlighted tennis courts are spread throughout the manicured landscaping. There are also basketball courts, shuffle board courts, volleyball nets, horseshoe pits, and a putting green. Located throughout the complex are a small library, an Internet cafe, convenience store, and game rooms.

There is plenty of space in the parking lot and guests are limited to two cars each. There is 24-hour security in this gated community and Gulf Shores Plantation is a bit secluded. It is about 20 minutes from the main part of town. Nearby are exceptional golf courses including the 18-hole Kiva Dunes is right outside the grounds and the 27-hole Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club is located in the adjoining Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge. Duncan Beach Condos are to the west of Gulf Shores Plantation and open land of the Gulf Highlands are to the east.
